AHEF Spring 2021 Virtual Panel: The Epidemiology of COVID-19
Arkansas Health Executives Forum Panel
1.5 ACHE Face-to-Face Hours Provided
Per ACHE guidelines, attendance is limited to 60 with priority given to in-state members.
When a new infectious disease is discovered, epidemiologists work with other scientists to find who has it, why they have it, and what can be done about it. Since the outbreak, scientists and health care leaders have been working to: identify the source of the outbreak, monitor and track the disease, study the disease and develop guidance for actions to slow the spread of the disease and lessen its impact.
This panel will discuss the impact COVID-19 has had on the state of Arkansas, including a situation update, discussion of state and local leadership activities and coordination to combat the pandemic and provide insight into predictions of this disease and mutations.
Moderator:
Dr. Dirk Haselow, Epidemiology and Associate Medical Director of Infection Prevention, Baptist Health System
Panelists:
Dr. John Norwood, Infectious Disease, St. Bernards Medical Center
Dr. Amanda Novack, Medical Director of Infection Prevention, Baptist Health System
Dr. David Ratcliff, Chief Medical Officer, Washington Regional Medical Center
