CDC Expands Eligibility & Increases Flexibility for COVID-19 Booster Doses

Following the FDA’s authorization and ACIP recommendation, the CDC yesterday expanded the groups eligible for COVID-19 booster doses to include higher-risk individuals who received an initial Moderna series 6+ months ago, and all individuals who received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine 2+ months ago. Their new recommendations also enable a “mix and match” approach, so that individuals may receive a booster dose of a different type than their primary vaccination.
