CMS Begins Hospital Price Transparency Rule Audits

4/30/2021  |   4:05 p.m. CT

In January, new price transparency requirements went into effect, including the publishing of payer-specific negotiated rates in a machine readable file and publishing consumer-friendly information about “shoppable” services. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has now begun notifying hospitals it deems are not complying with the requirements, based upon reviews of hospital websites. For more information about the rule, please see the CMS hospital price transparency webpage or FAQ.
