CMS Price Transparency Requirements Took Effect Jan. 1

On December 29, a federal appeals court ruled against the American Hospital Association’s legal challenge to the CMS final rule mandating that hospitals disclose their privately negotiated charges with commercial health insurers.

This week, AmHA wrote a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services, asking that the department exercise enforcement discretion as they implement, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the rule, which took effect on January 1. Read the letter >>
